With futurism, one’s imagination drifts to a parallel world and one feels like they are existing on another planet. Futurism and art share a common style of symbolism, avant-garde, and freedom of expression. Buccellati is debuting with designer Patricia Urquiola the new Tahiti picnic baskets. The items, unveiled at the brand’s new boutique in Via Montenapoleone 23, will enrich the famous tableware and objects line Tahiti, launched in the 1960s by the Maison Buccellati and characterized by the keen crafting of silver and bamboo.

Copper will not require specialized care in terms of your cleaning products if you want to maintain its sparkle. Using marbles can be intimidating for most people but we can change the narrative. The remarkable part is that marble can be fitted in many styles from Calcutta, Carrara, and Sasso Rosso. However, marbles should not be limited to countertops as they can be used for your backsplash.

It extends its influence even to the very heart of our daily lives – our homes. Here are intriguing and innovative futuristic design ideas that exude the ultramodern and hi-tech look. If we imagine a world where these visions take shape, the concept of aesthetics might even become obsolete, as nature and technology will ultimately define how spaces will look, feel and the emotions they will evoke. The following are conceptual renderings of what modern living rooms could look like in the future… just for fun. The classy yet futuristic table is, of course, the first thing that grabs the attention in this design. The copper details, exquisite cabinets, and the lush wooden floor elevate this idea to where it needs to be.
Deconstructivist architecture "challenges the very values of harmony, unity and stability"
Customized furnishings, bespoke decor, and spaces tailored to individual lifestyles will be in high demand, ensuring that each home is a unique reflection of its occupants. A fusion of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian design, Japandi will continue to gain popularity. Characterized by simplicity, neutral color palettes, and a focus on natural textures, this style creates serene and uncluttered interiors. Biophilic design, which focuses on connecting interiors with nature, will continue to gain prominence.

Marking the introduction of the first Valextra Spa repair, cleaning and polishing service, a life-size wellness center is being mounted inside the store as part of the overall installation, housing artisans at work. Tongue-in-cheek merchandise — including towels, sleeping masks and aluminum trays — has been developed by Studio Temp to mark the initiative. Valextra has conscripted Italian graphic design firm Studio Temp to shed new light on its codes and heritage, unveiling a full roster of initiatives to coincide with Milan Design Week. Serapian will support the Doppia Firma exhibition at its charming Villa Mozart headquarters.
Leather Furniture with Subtle Tones
Like any other form of art, there’s a wide spectrum of characteristics, perceptions, and movements when it comes to futuristic interior design. Interior design embraces a plethora of styles and among these are those who exceed a definite niche and can only be depicted as surreal or futuristic. Futuristic design goes well beyond imagination, rejecting what is considered the norm. As part of the Futurism movement, this realm of interior design is eccentric and almost non-conforming. Enter Netflix’s Black Mirror, which premiered in the US in 2011 and recently dropped its long-awaited (and we mean LONG) sixth season. The dystopian series gives us a glimpse into the very near future where so much will be driven by technology.
Postmodernist interiors could incorporate both luxurious and utilitarian elements in the same space. Postmodern interior design and architecture championed irony as it dragged traditional Baroque, Rococo, Art Deco, and Classical styles. To do so, postmodern architecture and interior design often featured whimsical and unconventional building shapes—i.e., the use of decorative columns, arches, and pediments.

Triennale Milano museum and Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain are presenting, within the scope of their cultural partnership, a wide-ranging retrospective on Alessandro Mendini’s work as an architect, designer, artist and theorist. Mendini, who died in 2019, is revered for his unique, revolutionary approach to lifestyle. The title of the show, “Io Sono Un Drago (I Am a Dragon),” is inspired by one of his most symbolic self-portraits.
For example, certain firms attract work that is subcontracted to a local firm. The originating firm may collect all the fees and retain a management or generation fee, paying the remainder to the performing firm. The amounts paid to the latter are not included in fees of the collecting firm when determining its ranking. Where applicable, all percentages are based on responding Giants, not their total number.
So, with this promising background, what does the future hold for aesthetics? Interiors will be transformable, modular, smarter and (literally) greener, merging nature with technology and consuming resources efficiently. VR and AR tools will create increasingly immersive experiences, biophilic design will evolve into living surfaces that grow plants or fungi, and programmable materials will be modified by computer algorithms to suit users’ needs. Along with artificial intelligence, the data revolution will govern all aspects of design, transforming the way architects work by helping them identify and measure trends and consumer preferences to create more personalized design solutions.
The goal is to create an aesthetically pleasing space and easy to live in. Another up and coming trend is biophilic lighting, which seeks a connection with nature by incorporating natural elements such as sunlight, vegetation and water into indoor lighting design. In this case, the lights pass through or are reflected by a plant or water feature, forming a more organic and natural pattern. These biophilic lighting practices offer benefits for people's health and well-being, and improve the design and aesthetics of interior spaces, bringing a little more contact with nature even in dense and chaotic cities.
